Frequently asked questions

Below, you’ll find answers to our most frequently asked questions about everything related to our pregnancy sculptures.
Can’t find what you’re looking for? Feel free to get in touch. We’re happy to help!

Is 3D scanning safe for my baby?

Yes, absolutely! Our 3D scanner uses the same technology as a standard camera, making it completely safe for both you and your baby. The scanning process is non-invasive, painless and without risk, allowing us to capture every detail of your beautiful bump with complete peace of mind.

Congratulations! The best time would be between week 32 and week 36 of your pregnancy, during these weeks you will have a beautiful bump. After week 36 there is an increased chance that you will give birth before we have had the posing session. If you are pregnant with twins, we would recommend to book the appointment between week 28 and week 33, for the same reason as above.

If it is more convenient for you to meet us outside of these recommended weeks, for example because of existing travel plans to London, you are of course very welcome as well.

We don’t require a deposit, so there is no cancellation fee. However, we would really appreciate it if you could cancel at least 24 hours in advance if you’re unable to attend your appointment for any reason. You can easily cancel or reschedule your booking via the confirmation email you receive after booking.

The studio is located in West London. We share our exact locations once your appointment has been booked.

Do I need to book a session far in advance?

We recommend booking your session as soon as you know when you’d like to visit, to avoid missing out on your preferred date. Check availability and secure your spot here. We can’t wait to welcome you to our studio and create your beautiful pregnancy keepsake!

Each appointment lasts approximately one hour. In a relaxed setting we’ll explain everything about the different styles and finishes of our pregnancy sculptures. After that it’s time for your 3D scan. We take the time to capture you at your absolute best. After the scan, we’ll show you the raw 3D image and you can share your wishes for any digital refinement. Once the appointment is over, we continue creating your bespoke sculpture. It’s truly a unique and unforgettable experience!

It is entirely up to you what you wear while posing for your sculpture. If you wish to have a natural silhouette we suggest to opt for seamless underwear, preferably a thong. You are also free to be completely undressed. We will have a dressing gown for you to wear before, after and in between poses. Would you prefer to be scanned while wearing a clothing item? You’re welcome to bring something yourself, such as a light blouse or top.

Of course, you’re welcome to bring someone with you to your appointment. We understand how special it is to share this experience! Our studio comfortably accommodates two guests.

No! During your session in the studio, we’ll guide you through our collections and explain the different materials, finishes and sizes. You’ll have time to see, touch and compare each option before making your choice.

We will also try various poses in front of the mirror to see which feels like the best option for your sculpture before deciding in what pose we’ll capture you. It can also be helpful to browse the examples on our website or Instagram page beforehand.

Each 3D scan takes around 2–3 minutes. It’s important to stay as still as possible during this time, as the scanner captures even the smallest movements. After we’ve taken the scan, we review the result together. We’ll check all technical details, ensuring the scan is free from any movement and you don’t suddenly have an extra finger.

Your only task is to decide whether you love the pose. And if you’d like to try a different one, we’re more than happy to scan you again.

No, you don’t need to do anything in advance of your session. Lots of people ask whether they need to be hairless – you don’t! Just come as you are, however you feel most comfortable.

After the scan, we’ll review the result together. This is the moment to let us know if you’d like any adjustments. We can soften small irregularities, scars, moles or dimples if desired, ensuring your sculpture looks exactly the way you envision it, so you can look at the final result with pride.

What materials are the MOA sculptures made of?

We have four collections to suit different tastes and budgets. We work with three different materials. Our printed sculptures are made from high-quality resin, capturing every delicate detail. Our enhanced pieces combine a resin base with a luxurious thick metal coating, while our bronze sculptures are crafted with traditional bronze casting techniques. Every sculpture is made here in the Netherlands.

Once you’ve received your sculpture, we store your scan securely for one year. This allows you to order an additional piece if your sculpture ever gets damaged or if you’d love to have it in a different finish. If you prefer that we do not keep your scan, simply let us know and we will delete it immediately.
If you wish, you can also purchase the scan files yourself for £45.

The standard sizes are 15, 17, and 20 cm. Would you like a different size? Feel free to ask about the options during your appointment.

Yes of course, all female bodies are beautiful and worth capturing! We also create sculptures of a parent and their baby (up to 10 weeks), ‘non-pregnant’ bodies and women who, for example, are facing breast cancer.

When will I receive my sculpture?

Depending on the chosen finish, you can expect to receive your sculpture 12–24 weeks after the full payment for your sculpture is made. Production times vary per collection. Your pregnancy sculpture will then be carefully shipped to your home address.

Our sculptures are low maintenance. All they really need is an occasional wipe with a microfibre cloth to remove dust and smudges. Avoid using harsh chemicals found in some household cleaners.  The biggest danger to our sculptures is impact. Our 3D printed artworks are likely to crack and splinter if it is dropped onto a hard surface, so we recommend keeping them out of reach of children and on a stable surface.

If your sculpture fell or got broken/damaged, we can create a new sculpture for you. You will get a discount of £100 on the pricing as listed on this website.

How can I pay?

Our bank details are sent over to you, after your session. Once the full payment has been made, we’ll start creating your sculpture.

Yes, we offer gift vouchers starting at £100. Please email info@moastudios.eu to find out more!
